UK High Emission Zone Tree Planting
400,000+
Acres of land allocated to tree planting
Atlas Park - Dartford, Kent
The Kent site, situated in Greater London, can be viewed from the Queen Elizabeth Bridge in Dartford and is an excellent example of a piece of reformed and regenerated land. The Dartford Crossing is one of the UK’s busiest roads, linking some of the country’s key manufacturing centres, distribution hubs and ports. Its position on the major transport axes of the M25 London Orbital Motorway and A2 trunk route to the channel ports, together with the Bluewater shopping centre and significant housing development in recent years are the prime contributors to frequent gridlocks on all four sides of the town. The levels of pollution in the area make this an ultra-high emission zone and therefore we deem it an incredibly important location for tree planting and green efforts.
Norlands Lane - Thorpe, Surrey
Nestled in a serene location next to two large lakes and an existing woodland, our Surrey site at Norland’s Lane is a vital part of our reforestation efforts due to its strategic environmental importance. This area is under the flight path of Heathrow Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, and is situated near major transport routes including the M25 and M3 motorways, as well as Thorpe Amusement Park and the River Thames. These factors contribute to making it a high carbon emission zone, underscoring the critical need for tree planting in this region. The tranquility of the site, combined with its ecological significance, makes it an ideal location for fostering long-term environmental resilience
Theydon Bois - Epping, Essex
Situated at Junction 26 of the M11 and M25, our Essex site in Theydon Bois is strategically positioned in an area characterized by high carbon emissions due to the constant flow of traffic on these major motorways. This makes it an essential location for our tree planting efforts, as the trees will play a crucial role in absorbing CO2 and mitigating the environmental impact of the surrounding transport infrastructure. Additionally, the site’s accessibility is a key advantage. Located within walking distance from a Central Line train station, it offers easy access for individuals and groups wishing to visit the site. The combination of its environmental importance and ease of access makes the Theydon Bois site a cornerstone of our reforestation projects, providing a green haven in one of the busiest transport corridors in the region.
Thorney Peterborough - Cambridgeshire
Our Cambridgeshire site, located in Thorny, Peterborough, is a significant expansion of our reforestation efforts with the capacity to accommodate 200,000 sapling trees. Positioned adjacent to the A47, a major route that connects Peterborough with other key regions, this site is ideally located to counteract the high levels of carbon emissions generated by the continuous traffic flow. The scale of this project allows us to make a substantial impact on carbon sequestration and biodiversity enhancement in the region.
